making your teeth white

Do you need help making your teeth white? We all want perfect, brilliant teeth and the ability to smile without being self-conscious. In addition to being attractive, white teeth are part of a healthy, beautiful smile. If you have ever felt low esteem about your teeth, or they just aren't as white as they once were, Mann Dental Care wants to help you with your goal of whitening your teeth and achieving a flawless smile. These methods are best used in conjunction with cosmetic dentistry to help you achieve and keep that gorgeous smile.

Avoid Coffee

Coffee stains are one of the most common roadblocks to achieving a perfect smile. We all drink coffee from time to time, but regularly drinking coffee will prevent you from having brilliant white teeth. Consider the harmful effects of coffee:

  • Coffee plants are sprayed with high amounts of pesticides.
  • The tannins in coffee stain your teeth, preventing you from making your teeth white.
  • Coffee drinks contain carcinogens as well as allergens to which many people are sensitive.

Stop or limit drinking coffee in the morning and switch to carob or other coffee substitutes. Better yet, drink water instead! If regular water is not appealing, try making infused flavored water at home with lemons or cucumbers.

Brush After Every Meal

Regular brushing in conjunction with regular dentist visits is one of the most important things you can do to maintain dental health. Make sure that you brush your teeth with an ADA-approved toothpaste for as long as it takes to say your ABC's first thing in the morning, after every meal, and just before you go to bed at night. If you are not brushing regularly due to chipped teeth or other tooth pain, see a dentist.

Use Chewing Gum

Chewing gum moderately after meals and from time to time during the day will help keep your teeth white as well as reduce the risk of gum disease, in conjunction with regular dental care. By reducing acidity in the mouth and lightly scrubbing the surfaces of your teeth, chewing gum can help prevent stains.

Using Natural Products As An Aid

Did you know that many natural products found in the grocery store can make your teeth whiter? In fact, you've probably used many of these ingredients in the past week. Foods that aid in whitening include:

  • lemon juice
  • baking soda
  • strawberries
  • apple cider vinegar

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a restorative cosmetic dentistry service that bonds to your teeth, instantly improving your smile. Veneers improve the overall appearance of your teeth and are easy to care for. Porcelain veneers in particular are also less likely to stain than other methods of improving the brightness of your teeth.
