5 Tips for a Bright Smile to Dazzle the World

bright smileA bright smile is an asset. If you have sparkling white teeth, people view more favorably and white teeth also mean more self-confidence. You will never feel embarrassed to smile among family and friends. Also, remember, be it consciously or unconsciously, you will be judged at work based on your appearance; and the appearance of your teeth play a huge role in this.

There are so many different ways to get a white and brilliant smile. So, if you are looking for one, here are few invaluable tips.

Teeth Whitening Diet

If you want healthy and whiter teeth, pay attention to what you are eating. Look to consume crunching fruits and veggies, such as apples, carrots and celery. These foods cause your mouth to produce saliva and this helps rinse away food particles so that they do not stain teeth. Also, look to include broccoli and strawberries in your diet. Broccoli contains several minerals that form a protective coating on your teeth, so that they don’t get stained by foods and drinks you consume. Strawberries contain an enzyme that functions like natural bleach, helping to white teeth instantaneously.

Be Mindful of Your Drinks

If you think any of the drink you consume will stain a white shirt then that is one drink you should avoid. Such drinks also have the ability to stain your teeth as well. So, stay away from drinks, such as coffee, tea and sodas. If you are a wine drinker, it is time to break this habit if you want a bright smile. Red wine stains teeth, while white wine erodes the enamel. If you brush your teeth immediately after drinking white wine, you could cause further damage to your teeth, as the enamel will be weak.

At Home Whitening Products

There are certain teeth whitening products that you can use at home to brighten your smile. For instance, mild stains on the surface of teeth can be removed with whitening toothpaste that contains mild abrasives. There are even whitening gels and rinses available that can make teeth a few shades brighter over a period of time. However, the key is using these products consistently and regularly.

Proper Oral Care

Without regular brushing, flossing and rinsing, you will be unable to attain the right results. It is important you brush your teeth at least twice a day. However, if you truly want to prevent stains, brush your teeth after every meal. Do not use worn out toothbrushes. Replace the brush every 3 to 4 months. In case the bristles appear worn out, bent or frayed, replace the brush immediately.

Flossing gets rid plaque and food particles stuck between teeth and under the gumline. Dentists recommend flossing your teeth at least once a day.

Mouth rinses are equally important and help cleanse the mouth and fight bacteria. Rinsing after brushing will keep your breath fresh.

Professional Teeth Whitening

If you are looking for dramatic results, it is best to visit your dentist for a teeth whitening session. Professional teeth whitening use high concentration of hydrogen peroxide and this helps give better results compared to at-home whitening products. The effect of the whitening agent is augmented using a laser or special light.

You will get better and quicker results if you go to a dentist for removing stains from your teeth. But remember, it will cost you more to get that bright smile you always wanted.

General Tips to a Dazzling Smile

If you want to have a brighter and better smile, visiting a dentist is a must. You should be looking to get your teeth professionally cleaned twice a year if you have healthy teeth. Otherwise, your dentist will let you know how often you should come in for teeth cleaning. You can even speak to your dentist about veneers, which are great option for people with bad teeth. Once you have your teeth cleaned by the dentist, follow these tips to keep your smile bright and white.

  • Brush and floss your teeth every day
  • Visit your dentist twice a year for a checkup
  • Do not smoke, as it causes your teeth to get yellow and also damages your gums
  • Be careful about what you drink. Avoid coffee, aerated drinks, wines and tea
  • If you want to drink soda or iced tea or coffee, use a straw to minimize the contact the beverage will have with your teeth

So, are you looking for a bright smile? Use these tips and let us know whether they helped you.
